In our drive to provide standardized skills training programme for millions of African youths, IWDev has
identified that the only option to provide quality and affordable skills training is via the deployment of
e-learning initiatives.

IWDev was recently appointed as the National Programme Coordinator (NPC) for International Comission for Workforce Development (ICWFD). “ICWFD” is a California based 501(c)3 Non-Profit public charity organization (Tax ID# 20-3097851) that is enabling the workforce of G77 Developing countries (DC’s) to compete in the current and future global economy. It is run by a committed Board and volunteers passionate about bridging the digital divide and providing access to 21st. century employability skills FREE to the marginalized sectors of the world. ICWFD has aligned with a leading
E-Learning content and solution provider to launch a global skills and workforce development program
of its kind that provides access to over 500 of the highest quality certification level IT & Professional development courses that ensures instructional competency and proper curriculum to under-privileged youth from any location in the continent using scratch cards.

IWDev has exclusive rights to cover Nigeria and Ghana to get sponsorship for the courses through partnership with public and private sector and distribute the courses free to end users. This initiative is intended to provide unique solution and approach to meeting the need for short, low cost and easily accessible skills development courses in Africa. This is a non profit initiative, and so end users/students are not expected to pay for the e-learning courses. The courses are to be sponsored and disseminated freely.

Our objective is to provide computerized training programmes for over 1million African youths yearly. Currently, there is a course library with over 500 certification-level courses.  Courses are added continuously and they range from:
Information Technology (IT)  - Cisco; Client/Server; Essentials of e-Commerce; Java; LINUX; Lotus Notes; Microsoft Office; Microsoft Project; MCSD, Solutions Architecture; MCSE, Microsoft Windows 2000; MS SQL Server 7 (MS Certified); Oracle; OS/390; PC/Handheld Concepts and Operating Systems; Programming Languages; Unix/Solaris; Visual Basic 6 (MS Certified)
Professional Development courses: Communications; Compliance; Customer Service; Finance; Human Resources; Management; Marketing; Professional Development; Project Management; Sales

Below is the step-by-step process to access the e-learning courses :

  1. Obtain scratch cards
  2. Log on to URL printed on the scratch card
  3. Enter PIN code and select a course
  4. Download and install course on the computer
  5. Courses are run from the computer and need not worry about slow internet or disconnection problems
  6. Student becomes a skilled person via e-learning!
